Mark has always had a passion for cars and repairing vehicles or bikes from a young age, progressing from technic Lego sets through to real life technologies as he grew up. As soon as Mark finished his GCSE exams at school, he started his journey in the automotive industry as a Ford Vehicle Technician Apprentice. Completing 5 years with Ford as a technician and then progressing to different vehicle manufacturers to gain wider experience on the tools.
In his late twenties Mark left his role as a senior technician at a Land Rover main dealer to move into the education sector, wishing to share all his knowledge, skills and experiences with the next generation of Technicians entering the industry. After several years of teaching and completion of his L5 teaching qualification, Mark continued to develop his skills and qualities to provide management and leadership of a Motor Vehicle department. Mark continued to setup and developed successful departments in the Further Education sector, bringing the latest technologies, skills and training into classrooms to bridge the required skills gap.
Currently as a Chartered Manager with the CMI, Mark is part of the senior leadership team at North London Garages. At NLG he supports CEO, Colin Denton to be one of the leading Motor Vehicle apprenticeship providers in the UK. Mark is also part of Colin’s team within the classic car network, where they provide support and guidance to vehicle enthusiast in working on their own vehicles. This was such a success it made its way onto mainstream TV as ‘Classic Car Garage’ and is currently being produced as a new YouTube series ‘Tinker Club’.
